Nitin is a seasoned global executive with operating, general management and strategic business development experiences across consumer products, M&E and hi-tech industries. He has a track record of fostering technology-led innovation, building profitable new ventures and driving transformational growth.
As Vice President Innovation at DCPI, Nitin currently runs ‘Playmation’, a large innovation venture inspired by ‘Internet of Things’, and ‘Wearable Technology’ to create active and immersive physical play experiences. Nitin leads a 100+ team of creative, R&D, product, content and technology talent from across TWDC to develop connected / physical-digital products. Nitin is a mentor at Disney’s Accelerator program – a company-wide innovation initiative where select executives provide hands-on mentoring to start-ups.
Prior to his current role, Nitin led Disney India’s Strategy / Business Development function and Interactive Media business as General Manager. He led the ~ $1 billion acquisition and integration of UTV (India’s premier media conglomerate) that resulted in TWDC becoming a top-tier Indian media conglomerate. Nitin operationalized the mobile gaming business and turned DI into a profitable venture and led the $70 million acquisition of Indiagames – India’s largest gaming company.
Nitin spent 8 years at Deloitte – where he led the build-out of a pioneering global consulting venture of 200+ practitioners. He consulted C-Level executives on strategic and operational issues in telecoms and hi-tech industries in North America and Asia. Nitin’s prior experiences also include stints at Johnson & Johnson and J Walter Thompson.
Nitin is a member of U.S. India Business Council and has spoken on multiple forums about investing in India. He holds an MBA from The George Washington University and a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Delhi, India.
