Raja is the President of Sivananthan Laboratories, a high tech business incubator focused on fostering cutting-edge, fundamental research and development, primarily in the area of semiconductor technology. Raja is charged with helping to develop and implement Sivananthan Laboratories’ strategic vision as a world-class R&D laboratory and small-business incubator. Illinois Governor Pat Quinn also recently appointed Raja as the Vice-Chair of the Illinois Innovation Council (www.illinoisinnovation.com), which is intended to help spark technological innovation and start-ups in Illinois.
Raja graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in mechanical engineering and a public policy degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He then received his J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School. After his graduation, he clerked for Judge Joan B. Gottschall of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Raja then joined the international law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he practiced commercial litigation and became a partner in the firm. Along the way, Krishnamoorthi was appointed by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan as a Special Assistant Attorney General to help start its Public Integrity Unit. He also served on the board of the Illinois Housing Development Authority, becoming Chairman of its Audit Committee. Later, Raja became Deputy Treasurer for Illinois.
