Vijay Kotrappa is a successful technology entrepreneur and angel investor. He is constantly looking for new ideas and ventures that leverage technology to improve operational efficiencies and quality. Most recently, developed solutions for small private equity firms. Healthcare is another area of particular interest to him. He worked on and funded several ventures including the America’s Schools Program, PatientFYI, CareRally, UGovernIT, and Second Differential. Prior to that he co-founded Guidance Solutions, an internet services and co-venture company, building it to a leading software development company with 200+ employees in Los Angeles, and $20 million in annual revenue. Helped raise $49 million in private equity funding (from Clayton, Dublier, and Rice) for the company during the dot-com boom and finally exited the company in 2003. From 1986 to 1992, worked in the CAD/CAM area for Computervision, as a marketing engineer for Sun Microsystems, and as a systems consultant at Hughes Space and Communications.
Vijay is a TiE Charter Member and was the President of TiE Socal in 2013. He led several initiatives such as the Junior MBA program for high school students, entrepreneurship mentoring program and TiECon SouthWest.
Vijay received his B-Tech from IIT Bombay, MS (CAD/CAM) from UCLA, and an MBA from UCLA (Anderson).
